About Us......

“Our First”
Welcome to the website of Jodaerin
Abyssinians. We are small breeders of Tawny Abyssinians
located in the foothills of Perth.
Our family consists of myself Helen, my
husband Nicholas, our two teenage children and our beautiful
cats.
Our love affair with Abys began in
1992.We owned a pet food supply business and one of our
customers was an Aby breeder. We purchased our first Tawny
Abyssinian his name was Joda. He took over our home and
stole our hearts. Joda grew up with our children he was
forever being carted around playing dress up and being
pushed in a pram. He had a wonderful temperament and loved
children and adults alike.
In 1997 we purchased our second Aby a
beautiful green eyed tawny female, Erin, she had a perfect
heart shaped white locket. Erin like Joda had a beautiful
temperament and she became my little shadow.
In 2004 after purchasing two more Aby
pets with the children now in their teens and more
independent I had more time to pursue my dream of breeding
my own Abys.
And so In Loving Memory of Joda and Erin
our breeding prefix ‘Jodaerin’ was born……

We acquired our first breeding queen
Taliz Cracklin Rosie in late 2005 from my dear friend and
mentor Jan Fuller of Hitaga/Taliz Abyssinians. We will be
forever grateful that Jan entrusted us with such a special
little cat.
I spent 2006 showing Rosie and was very
fortunate to have met some wonderful people both here in
Perth and in the Eastern states. Check out Rosie’s
achievements on our show news page.
We are registered with The Cat Owners
Association of WA and breed according to their ethics and
standards.
Our own breeding ethics will always be to
only breed healthy quality kittens with exceptional
temperament so that others may enjoy the experience of being
owned by this special breed of Cat.
